US-Iran nuclear deal talks fall throughLast year, after taking over the reins of the United States, Joe Biden started talks regarding the nuclear deal with Iran. The talks held in Vienna over ten months ended without any conclusion. In this scenario, Josep Borrell, foreign policy chief at the European Union, visited Iran last week. After that, on Tuesday, fresh talks started between Iran and the United States in Doha, the capital of Qatar, with mediation by the European Union.

Western media claimed this was the last chance for Iran and the United States to finalise the nuclear deal. Iranian representative Ali Bagheri Kani and US special envoy Robert Malley participated in the talks. Enrique Mora of the European Union was present for the meeting as a mediator.

After the talks for two days in Doha, the US State Department declared that the talks had failed. The United States appreciated the mediation by the European Union. But the US state department criticised that Iran disappointed the United States. The United States is complaining that Iran did not cooperate with the nuclear deal’s success.

Whereas, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said his country was very optimistic about the negotiations. The Iranian Foreign Minister also accused that the US intentions were not realistic. The Iranian Foreign Minister also asserted that Iran would not cross the Red Line for the nuclear deal with the United States.

Furthermore, Iran had demanded that all the sanctions against Iran should be withdrawn, Iranian Revolutionary Guards should be removed from the list of terrorist organisations and the United States must assure that will it not withdraw from the nuclear deal in the future. It is claimed that this was the point of dispute between Iran and the United States.

Meanwhile, as the last chance to sign the nuclear deal has been missed, the United States could adopt an aggressive policy against Iran. Israel and Saudi Arabia could pressurise the United States in the matter.
