UAE’s future will be dire if it supports Saudi – Yemen’s Houthi rebels warn

Tehran: ‘The UAE should not participate in the war in Yemen, nor should they support Saudi in this war. Otherwise, the future of the UAE will be terrifying,’ threatened the Houthi rebel group in Yemen. The ceasefire in Yemen ended last week. It is claimed that the conflict will flare up again as the Houthi rebels refused to extend the ceasefire. Earlier this year, the Houthis launched drone and ballistic missile attacks on Dubai, the capital of the UAE. Therefore, the seriousness of this threat given by the Houthis has increased.

UAE's future will be dire if it supports Saudi - Yemen's Houthi rebels warnA six-month-old UN-initiated ceasefire in Yemen ended last week. The United Nations and Saudi Arabia had appealed that the Houthi rebels, like the Yemeni army, should be prepared to extend the ceasefire. But the US and Arab allies warned that the conflict in Yemen would flare up as the Houthi rebels refused to extend the ceasefire.

Abdullah Muhammad Al-Naimi, a member of the political wing of the Houthi rebels, Ansarullah, issued a threat to the UAE on social media. The Houthi commander has warned the UAE, which has supported Saudi Arabia in the civil war raging in Yemen for the past seven years, to stay away from future conflicts. ‘If the UAE joins the Saudi-led war in Yemen, the country’s future will be dire. The UAE will lose everything in this war. It will send the UAE back to its decades-old past, a desert full of crows and snakes,’ warned Naimi.

Due to these Houthi attacks, Naimi claimed that entrepreneurs and investors would soon leave the UAE. The Houthi rebels, who broke out of a ceasefire last week, have started threatening Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In this too, Houthi rebels are targeting the UAE the most. A few days ago, another Houthi commander, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, also drew attention to the demands of the Houthis in an interview. Bukhaiti had warned that if western countries did not agree to their demands, attacks would be launched to the farthest cities of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

At the same time, another Houthi commander said that foreign companies that have invested in Saudi Arabia and the UAE should immediately withdraw from these two countries. Earlier this year, Houthi rebels launched drone and ballistic missile attacks on fuel plants in the Saudi capital Riyadh and the UAE capital Dubai. Houthi drones also targeted foreign ships stationed in Saudi and UAE waters. In such a situation, there was a reaction from Europe after the Houthis threatened to target foreign companies in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The European Union, taking note of the Houthi threat, has warned that it will not tolerate actions destabilising the Middle East.

Meanwhile, in the last twenty-four hours, there have been reports of Houthis launching attacks on the Yemeni army. It claims to have killed at least six soldiers. Yemen’s military had also announced that it had shot down two Houthi drones in Marib province. If the conflict flares up again in Yemen and the Houthis launch attacks on the UAE, it could have direct consequences at the international level.
