Turkish Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati and Internal Security Minister Suleyman Soylu ordered the action against 771 people. These include 454 people from the Gullen Movement who planned the rebellion against President Recep Erdogan. In 2016, Fethullah Gulen, a religious leader, had declared an armed uprising against the Erdogan regime. Turkey has taken action against 454 people who provided financial or any other assistance to the people involved in the rebellion.

The assets of the US-based Niagara Foundation also have been frozen. The concerned organisation is claimed to be connected to the Gulen group. Turkey also froze the accounts of 119 members from the Kurdish rebel organisation PKK. The list also includes members from the terrorist organisations Al Qaeda, AL Nusr and IS, and the Iran affiliated terrorist organisation Hezbollah. As per received information, the list even includes Pakistani citizens supporting terrorism.

Extremist groups from Pakistan are expressing surprise over this stand of the Turkish government. Over the last few days, these extremists have been criticising Turkey for adopting anti-Pakistan policies. Last week, it was reported that Turkey was willing to supply drones to India. At the same time, the Pakistani analysts claimed that Turkey, which upheld the Kashmir issue, supporting Pakistan on the international platforms, has changed its stand completely. The Turkish stand regarding Israel also has changed.
