Taliban-Pak soldiers clash at the Durand Line

Kabul – A few days ago, the Taliban warned to shoot the Pakistan soldiers deployed at the Durand Line if they tried to enter Afghanistan. On Friday, the Taliban implemented this threat. the Taliban killed two Pakistani soldiers in the conflict that broke out in the Bajour region. Moreover, the Taliban has also published videos of mortar attacks on Pakistan posts. This has resulted in severe criticism against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, advocating for the Taliban at the international level.

After both incidents, Prime Minister Imran Khan was heavily criticised by the Pakistani media. Repercussions of this were also felt in the Pakistan parliament. Opposition parties have questioned the Imran Khan government regarding the incident. A senior official of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government spoke to Pakistani media on Friday. The official said that the Durand Line dispute has been resolved through talks with senior Taliban officials.

The Taliban used sniper rifles to kill two Pakistani soldiers. Mortar attacks from both sides followed this. Besides, it is claimed that the encounter lasted for about 30 minutes.

But other reports on social media say the clashes, which began on Friday afternoon, have not stopped until Saturday. There is occasional firing between Taliban and Pakistani troops. It is claimed that the Pakistani army suffered heavy casualties in the conflict. Local media claimed that the Taliban are sending rocket launchers to retaliate against the Pakistani military on the Durand Line.

The journalists are reminding that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists are threatening the security of Pakistan. Thus, despite repeated demands, the Taliban did not take action against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. It happened because Tehreek is the ‘insurance’ for the Taliban in Afghanistan against Pakistan. But Pakistani journalists have criticised the government and the military for not recognising this fact.
