Major General Michel Friedling, the French Space Command commander, has confirmed this to be a cyberattack. He said that since the Russia-Ukraine conflict started in the last week, on 24th February, the satellite networks in Europe and Ukraine were affected. Therefore, thousands of customers connected to these networks went offline. 5,800 windmills supplying nearly 11-Gigawatt electricity to Europe were also affected. As per the German company, the windmills have started functioning but not fully.

The European countries have not yet held anyone responsible for these cyberattacks. The military and cyber analysts expressed concerns that the cyberattacks could intensify due to the Russia-Ukraine war. It will not be limited only to Russia and the Ukrainian population. The effects would be seen around the globe, which will turn into a Cyber Armageddon.

As per information received, certain Russian websites also faced cyberattacks simultaneously when Europe was cyberattacked. There are reports that Ukraine has deployed an army of hackers. Therefore, France and Germany have avoided accusing Russia of the cyberattacks on Europe. But the US media are claiming that Russia will soon launch cyberattacks on western countries.
