India adopts aggressive Anti-China stance at SCO meet – Chinese state media protests.

New Delhi: Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a stern message to China’s Defense Minister Li Shangfu on the LAC during bilateral talks ahead of the SCO meeting. Chinese state media have complained that the statements made by India’s defence minister were harsh and provocative. However, the Chinese media claimed that the Chinese Defense Minister had taken a reasonable stand saying that the situation on the LAC is stable and will be resolved properly within the framework of bilateral cooperation. Therefore, it seems China is preparing to blame India for this dispute by accusing India of taking an aggressive stance regarding LAC.

Moreover, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization-SCO meeting was held on Friday. The defence ministers of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Iran attended the meeting. Pakistan’s defence minister, a member of the SCO, did not attend the meeting in person but attended it virtually. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with the defence ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran. Meanwhile, there have been reports in the media that during the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh refrained from shaking hands with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu. It is being claimed that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed India’s displeasure to the Chinese Defence Minister.

Also, in the discussion held on Thursday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh warned Defense Minister Li Shangfu that peace and harmony on the LAC are essential for bilateral cooperation. This was highlighted in a statement released by the Ministry of Defence. China’s official mouthpiece Global Times said that India used strong words to convey this message and that the language was provocative. Not only this, the media is claiming that while India is adopting an aggressive stance, China’s defence minister has adopted a sensible stance to resolve the dispute in a bilateral framework by stating that the situation on the LAC is stable.

Meanwhile, Chinese analysts say it is not right for India to take such an aggressive stance against China.
