India is working towards food and fuel security – Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar

Panama City – While countries in the East and West are polarizing and the rift between nations in the North and South is widening, India is working to connect them all, said External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Mr Jaishankar, who went from Guyana to Panama, a Central American country, explained India’s stand during his visit. At the same time, Jaishankar went on to say that India is making special efforts for food and fuel security, as this ensures the economic progress of developing countries.

The fourth meeting of the ‘Central American Integration System’ (SICA) with India was held with the member countries of Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. In this meeting held in Panama, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar assured that the side of developing and poor countries would be represented in the G20 meeting to be held in India. Jaishankar also raised awareness of the group of the extensive efforts that India is making for food and fuel security. Jaishankar said India is advocating ground pulses for the same.

‘As countries in East and West are polarizing, the rift between North and South countries is widening. At such a time, India is connecting all of them as a bridge,’ Jaishankar claimed. “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is the policy of India, and according to this concept, India believes that the universe is one family. During the outbreak of Corona, India had provided Corona vaccine to the poor and developing countries by implementing the Vaccine Maitri campaign,’ Jaishankar reminded on this occasion.

‘The consequent crisis the world has to brace for due to the Corona pandemic and the subsequent conflict in Ukraine, and also the effects of climate change. In such a situation, by organizing a conference of 125 countries that are part of the Global South, India has prepared to deliver the voice of these countries more effectively at the international level,’ the Foreign Minister of India highlighted.
