Someday POK will be with India and will join rest of Kashmir: Air Marshal Amit Dev

Srinagar – Air Marshal Amit Dev, Chief of the Indian Air Force’s Western Command, was addressing a function to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Indian troops landing for the first time in Jammu & Kashmir on October 27 1947. Air Marshal Amit Dev said that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India. The sentiment of the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) is that the whole of Kashmir is and the rest of the country are unified. Air Marshal clarified that currently, there are no plans to take over (POK). However, he expressed that someday, POK will be in India’s possession.

At that time, Pakistan had invaded Jammu & Kashmir. This prevented Pakistan from illegally occupying the rest of the territory. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will also be under Indian control, one day, said Air Marshal Amit Dev.

When asked about it by a media representative, Air Marshal denied having an immediate plan to takeover POK. However, he mentioned the atrocities perpetrated by Pakistan on the people of POK. The residents of POK have sentiments that the whole of Kashmir is one and the rest of the country is unified. He expressed hope of the country coming together today or tomorrow. Air Marshal Amit Dev reiterated that Pakistan is not treating the citizens of POK well.

Protests are being held in POK and worldwide by people belonging to POK against the atrocities on its citizens by Pakistan. Last week there was a massive protest in POK. This amplifies the importance of the statement made by Air Marshal Amit Dev and serves as a warning by expressing confidence of POK to be under India control one day.

When asked about the drone strike on the Jammu Air Force base, Air Marshal Amit Dev said that there was not much damage caused. However, he assured that India is adopting new technology to counter such threats and taking necessary measures.

Meanwhile, the operation against terrorists in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, is going on for 16 days. Not many details have been released yet. However, a large haul of weapons was seized during the operation on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the NIA once again conducted raids at various places in Jammu and Kashmir. As per information received, the attacks were carried out on the locations of the Jamaat-e-Islami group.
