Pakistan Army made serious allegations against Imran Khan before the Long March beginsPakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was slain in Kenya last Sunday. Imran Khan’s supporters have alleged Pakistan’s notorious intelligence agency ISI to be behind this. ISI Chief Lt. Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, who was furious, addressed the press conference and responded to these allegations. He said Pakistan’s military officers would make mistakes but never betray the country. A lot has been said about us. It would be inappropriate for me to remain silent in such a situation.

Also, the ISI Chief said that the Army Chief General Bajwa was given a lucrative proposal to turn it in his favour. ‘It was made in front of me. He (Gen Bajwa) rejected it,’ and Lt. General Anjum announced in this press conference that he decided to remain neutral.

Lt. Gen Anjum’s allegation that Imran Khan had made this proposal to General Bajwa to save his Prime Ministership caused a sensation in Pakistan. At the same time, the media has also upheld Lt. Gen. Anjum’s statement that the Pakistan Army will remain politically neutral and stay away from politics. Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was restless by this, raised the question regarding the press conference held by the ISI Chief. Imran Khan asked if Pakistan Army was neutral, why the press conference? Also, Imran Khan criticised Pakistani military officers were saving the thieves in the government. However, Imran Khan further said he would not talk more about this issue for the country.

Earlier, Imran Khan had accused the present government of Pakistan many times of being thieves. This time too, Imran Khan has said he organised a long march to bring these thieves down from power and free the country. However, some have criticised Pakistan’s security as being directly challenged due to their long march. Not only this but some journalists and analysts made aware that this may lead to chaos in Pakistan. However, Imran Khan said he would not withdraw unless re-elections were announced in Pakistan. Simultaneously, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has warned that strict action will be taken against this long march of Imran Khan. So, what happens to this long march of Imran Khan in the next few days, has caught the attention of the observers.
