US State Secretary criticises North Korea for provoking by missile tests

Honolulu – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has criticised North Korea for provoking the international community by conducting a series of missile tests over the last month. Blinken appealed that North Korea should give up illegal activities and come forward for discussion.

Missile tests conducted by North Korea have created tensions in the Korean peninsula. Last week, North Korea claimed that it possessed long-range missiles capable of targeting the United States. After that, the US Secretary of State met with the Foreign Ministers of Japan and South Korea in the Hawaiian Islands to discuss the threats posed by North Korea. All the three Foreign Ministers issued a joint statement after the meeting. All three countries have denounced and criticised the seven missile tests conducted by North Korea, which profoundly destabilises the region. While speaking to the media, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has accused North Korea of using the missile tests as a strategy of provocation. Blinken said that the United States, Japan, and South Korea are jointly working to respond against North Korea for escalating tensions and destabilising the region.

A few days ago, the United States imposed sanctions on eight entities connected with the North Korean ballistic missile program. These companies and individuals are linked with China and Russia. China had criticised the sanctions imposed by the United States and demanded that no action be taken against North Korea.

Moreover, the US media had claimed the progress of the missile and nuclear programs of North Korea had slowed down since the year 2017. However, now the US media is pointing out that North Korea has accelerated the program and conducted a series of missile tests since the Biden administration came to power in the United States. North Korea’s confidence has grown since then, and now they have started to threaten to target the US.
