NATO should increase military deployments in the Baltic states: Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas

Tallinn – After the war-like situation on the Ukrainian border, the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania demanded additional military deployment to NATO. Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas made the demand, saying Russia threatened the Baltic countries. Hours earlier, Poland had warned of a possible war in Europe. The Estonian Prime Minister then seems to have made the demand to NATO.

Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Kallas called on NATO to send additional troops to the Baltic states, saying that they were also NATO members. But NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg only made a promise to Estonia. If Russia invades Ukraine, NATO will consider increasing its military presence in the Baltic states, Stoltenberg said.
