NATO initiates nuclear exercise in North Sea region alongside Belgium

Brussels: In the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warnings about nuclear attacks and increased nuclear deployment at bases near Europe, NATO has organized a wide-ranging ‘nuclear exercise’. From Monday, the ‘Steadfast Noon 22’ exercise began in the North Sea region of Europe alongside Belgium. 14 member countries of NATO, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have participated in this exercise.

In response to NATO’s moves, Russia has begun deploying nuclear weapons at bases near Europe.

Last week, it was reported that Russia had deployed strategic bombers to the base in Norway. In this background, NATO’s new ‘Nuclear Exercise’ is attracting attention. 60 fighter jets, including US ‘B52’ bombers, will participate in this exercise. Russia has already warned that NATO’s nuclear drills could further inflame tensions in Europe.
