New Delhi: India is uniquely poised and emerging as a lucrative investment opportunity backed by robust local demand driven by a huge population and supported by transparent government policies and law. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has urged the Indians residing in the US to disseminate information to encourage investments in India effectively.

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, on a three-day US visit, interacted with the Indian community in New Jersey. The commerce minister spoke about India’s key economic performance indicators on this occasion. In the fiscal year 2021-22, foreign direct investment in India reached close to $84 billion, whereas for the first time, India has exported $670 billion in a fiscal year. The commerce minister expressed confidence that India will continue to progress in future and the non-resident Indians spread around the world can contribute to this progress.

India will soon become the third-largest economy in the world due to transformational reforms and a highly engaged youth population. Piyush Goyal has appealed to Indians residing in the US to spread a positive message and encourage investment in India. He also appealed to Indian NRI’s to engage with Indian companies for the supply chain and investments.

Meanwhile, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will hold talks with the US Industry and Investors during his three-day visit to the US. Piyush Goel will be attending the 13th Trade Policy Forum-TPF between India and the US on 11th January and is expected to hold talks with the US Trade Representative, Katherine Tai.
