Germany foils Chemical Attack plot, arrest of two Iranian origin suspects -

Berlin: Germany’s security agencies foiled a plot to carry out a major terrorist attack in Germany using the toxic chemicals cyanide and ricin. German agencies informed that two Iranians were detained in this case. The German authorities took this action based on the information provided by the US intelligence department.

Security forces detained two brothers in Castrop-Rauxel city in an action conducted in the northwestern German province of Dortmund on Saturday at midnight. The German authorities informed the two Iranians, influenced by radical ideology, were preparing to carry out a major attack in Germany. Besides that, German authorities say they had planned a plot to cause poisoning or a more terrible chemical attack using cyanide and ricin.

Moreover, one of the arrested confessed to this. A stock of cyanide and ricin was found in the house of the concerned, after which the German authorities searched two garages in the city. The two brothers or the main accused can be jailed for three to 15 years for conspiracy to plot deadly attacks. It has been claimed that terrorists plot such attacks because one can easily buy ricin in Germany.

Previously, it revealed that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had planned terrorist attacks in European countries like France and Belgium, as in Germany. In this case, European countries had filed serious crimes against the Revolutionary Guards and took action against the relevant officials. But Iran had denied these allegations against its main security forces. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has prepared to declare Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation. Altogether, the arrest of Iranians from Germany regarding the chemical attack case draws attention.
