Japan accuses China of inciting activities of warplanes while QUAD meet

Tokyo: The Quad organisation being formed against China will never succeed. China had claimed that QUAD would be an inevitable failure. But it has been revealed that China has sent its fighter jets close to the Japanese airspace to issue a warning to QUAD while the QUAD leaders held talks in Tokyo, Japan. Japan took serious note of this and strongly protested the provocative Chinese actions. Japanese Defence Minister Nobuo Kishi alleged that even Russian bombers were there along with the Chinese warplanes.

This time, the provocation by China was grave compared to the previous incitements. Japanese Defence Minister Nobuo Kishi said that the action by China and Russia was a sensitive one while the QUAD meeting was being held. Japan and even South Korea have reported that Chinese and Russian fighter jets had hovered near its airspace. However, South Korea claimed that its air force fighter jets moved quickly and intercepted Chinese and Russian aircraft. South Korea informed that this incident took place at around 8:00 AM local time.

Furthermore, South Korea has expressed concern that a similar air intrusion attempt was made again at 3:40 PM. South Korea has stepped up cooperation with the United States and the West over the war in Ukraine. According to the country’s media, Russia and China are increasing pressure on South Korea. Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had recently claimed that the QUAD Association of India, US, Japan and Australia would not have much success against China. However, the fact that China is taking the QUAD very seriously has been revealed by the flight of Chinese fighter jets near the Japanese airspace.

Through these moves, China is trying to signal its aggressive response to the QUAD member countries. This has made it clear that China is worried that the QUAD’s military front will challenge its dominance. At the same time, the Japanese defence minister has taken serious cognisance of the Chinese actions, and there are indications that China will have to bear the consequences in the future.

Meanwhile, India has not yet commented on the Japanese claims. Indian diplomats have said that it would not be appropriate for India to speak on the issue.
