Foreign Minister S Jaishankar challenges to mitigate threats to the global economy

Hyderabad: Today’s security concepts are not limited to territorial, internal, and economic security. It also includes food and health security. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar claimed that the world had learned this lesson after the Corona outbreak and the Ukraine conflict. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar expressed hope that the G20 countries should seriously consider how to reduce the possible threats to the industry and the global economy by striving for a safer world.

In his speech, the foreign minister cited examples of the Covid pandemic, the Ukraine conflict and the earthquake in Turkey. Besides, EAM Jaishankar has said that India hopes that everyone should reflect on the G20 meeting on how to reduce the potential threats to our industrial sector and the global economy from such crises and what can be done to reduce these risks. At the same time, Jaishankar also informed that after the end of the G20 conference, India’s role in this organisation would not end.

He added that the countries presiding over the G20 of the previous year and the year before that try to find a way out of the problems by negotiating with the member countries of the current year’s G20. The views expressed by the G20 member states holding the presidency for the previous two years have been respected and influenced. Hence, once the G20 conference organised by India ends, India’s impact on this organisation will not disappear. Stating that India’s role will be important in the coming times too, Jaishankar informed about the working methods of this organisation.

Also, after the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey, India provided massive assistance to Turkey. Jaishankar pointed out that India’s development work has been ongoing in Turkey and Palestine. Apart from this, the EAM explained that India’s development work is currently underway in around 78 countries worldwide. Hence, all these countries look up to India with respect as a country with generosity and a big heart. Along with this, these countries have also been aware that India’s capabilities have been increasing progressively. Global respect for India has risen as a country with a development vision and capable leadership. Furthermore, Jaishankar claimed that in the current situation, only a handful of countries think of the world, including India.
