Last year, Israel and UAE signed the Abraham Treaty, with US President Donald Trump’s mediation. Subsequently, cooperation agreements were signed in various sectors between the two countries. UAE Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed had even invited the then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit UAE. But the visit had to be postponed due to some reasons. After that, on Sunday morning, the Israeli government announced the UAE visit of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

Prime Minister Bennett left for UAE after finishing the cabinet meeting on Sunday. The Israeli Prime Minister’s office clarified that the Prime minister’s visit was only for a day. The Israeli Prime Minister will meet UAE Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed on Monday morning. Israel announced that discussions regarding economic cooperation between the two countries and other regional issues would be held during the meeting. The international media claimed that discussions regarding the countries’ security would also be held during the meeting.

According to Israeli analysts, this Israeli prime minister’s visit to UAE is far more important. Along with Israel, Saudi, UAE and other Arab countries have expressed concerns over the Iranian nuclear program. Two weeks have lapsed since the talks started in Vienna and Israel has accused Iran of delaying the talks to give itself time to attain its nuclear objectives. The European countries participating in the talks for the nuclear deal are also warning Iran. But the Biden administration in the United States ignores the warnings and is adamant about talks with Iran. It is becoming apparent that Saudi Arabia, UAE and the other Arab countries are uniting against Iran.

A few days ago, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also toured the Arab countries and discussed Iran. In this scenario, the UAE visit of the Israeli Prime Minister gains more diplomatic and strategic significance.
