‘IS 2.0’ will rise given the instability in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

Moscow – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov warned, ‘The terrorist threat is still looming in the unstable countries Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. This is cause for grave concern and if the situation remains the same, ‘IS 2.0’ will rise. This poses a serious threat to the Russian security.’ Oleg pointed out that IS terrorists will carry out more saboteur activities in African countries.

Oleg mentioned terrorism in Syria and Iraq for this. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister pointed out that IS and Al Qaeda terrorists have active bases in the Idlib province of Syria. Oleg accused that the leading cause for the instability in the Idlib province is the activities of the terrorist organisations.

Heads of the state of central Asian countries and Russia held important discussions regarding the perceived threat from Afghan terrorism.

Meanwhile, Russia has started supplying weapons to the central Asian countries to counter Afghan terrorism.
