If the Iranian army uses force, the intensity of the movement will increase, Iranian analysts warn

Tehran: The ongoing anti-regime protests in Iran for the past three weeks have seen a strict crackdown by the Revolutionary Guards and the Iranian police against protesters. The Revolutionary Guards also had used force to crush the anti-regime protests earlier. But analysts in Iran have warned that if force is used for crushing the ongoing protests, it will flare up and ignite violent protests. These analysts have given this advice to the Iranian regime in the wake of the aggressive agitation called by school and college students over the past few days.

If the Iranian army uses force, the intensity of the movement will increase, Iranian analysts warnThe intensity of the agitation that erupted in Iran following the suspicious death of a Kurdish girl, Mahsa Amini, increases daily. For the first few days, the agitation was against the compulsion of hijab. A group in Iran was leading the movement. But in the last few days, groups from different regions of Iran have joined the agitation. This included employees, labourers and traders.

However, after the Revolutionary Guards entered Sharif University and took action against the girl students last week, the nature of this movement changed. The students of schools and colleges and their families who have remained aloof from this movement until now have also joined it. Videos have surfaced of university and school girl-students in nearly seven cities boycotting the hijab and chanting slogans against Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

Against this backdrop, analysts in Iran advised Khamenei’s regime. Earlier, the people of Iran were afraid of the actions of the Revolutionary Guards. But the current action has intensified the anger among the Iranian people against the regime. Therefore, an analyst, Mohammad Reza Tajik, advised that Iran’s government should not ‘step on a landmine’. Tajik pointed out that if force is used against these protesters, they will not hide but will take to the streets in anger, which is the difference between the previous and current protests.

If the Iranian army uses force, the intensity of the movement will increase, Iranian analysts warnMoreover, another analyst, Esmail Gerami Moghaddam, warned that if the Iranian regime continues to act on the protesters, ignoring their demands, a more violent agitation could flare up. Demonstrations are permitted under Iranian laws. However, Moghaddam drew attention to the fact that because the Revolutionary Guards were taking action against the protesters, the people lost faith in the regime.

Meanwhile, the Iranian regime alleges that the West is responsible for the agitation that flared in the country. Reactions from the United States, United Kingdom, France and Canada have been pouring in on the Iranian government’s action against the protesters. Iran has said that this is an internal issue of Iran, and Western countries should not interfere in it. Moreover, Iran has also summoned the British ambassador for the second time in the last two weeks. Furthermore, France has called on the EU to impose sanctions on Iran’s leaders.
