This report contains some of the highlights from Saturday, August 14, 2021. On this day, Uranium metal was enriched in Iran’s nuclear plant, observers from the Atomic Energy Commission said. Iran has enriched 200 grams of uranium metal to 20 per cent, observers said.

A few months ago, Iran announced that it would achieve four key goals in its nuclear These include pushing uranium enrichment beyond planned limits, increasing the number of centrifuges, and Iran has achieved these two goals. Commission observers said in a report that Iran had achieved a third of its four goals by enriching uranium metal last week.

Iran’s fourth goal is to build a reactor fuel plate. Iran says it is working on a nuclear program for civilian as well as medical use. Iran also claims that all its activities in the nuclear program are within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. But Israel has been accusing Iran of violating the 2015 nuclear deal by increasing the number of centrifuges over the past few months and now enriching uranium metal.

But Israeli analysts and the media warn that Iran, which enriches Uranium metal up to 20%, is moving closer to building an atomic bomb. A few days ago, Israeli Defence Minister Beni Gantz warned that Iran would be close to building a nuclear bomb in the next ten weeks. Gantz said it was the right time to take action against Iran, which is trying to build an atomic bomb and is responsible for terrorism in the Gulf. The US State Department has expressed concerns over the warning given by the IAEA to Iran regarding the enrichment of Uranium metal. However, State Department spokesman Ned Price said the Biden administration was determined to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran.

Meanwhile, the credibility of the United States is being questioned, as the Taliban regime was established overnight in Afghanistan. In such a situation, Israeli media expect Bennett’s government to be more cautious when negotiating with the US Biden administration over Iran’s nuclear program.
