Exchange of 270 war prisoners between Russia and Ukraine

Moscow/Kyiv: The exchange of prisoners of war (POWs) between the two countries came to light as the Russia-Ukraine conflict intensified. Russia has released over 200 Ukrainian prisoners of war. At the same time, Ukraine is said to have released 55 Russian soldiers and pro-Russian Ukrainian citizens. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Turkey and Saudi Arabia has played an essential role in this process in Russia-Ukraine.

Among the prisoners of war freed by Russia are the officers and soldiers of the Azov Battalion who fought for Ukraine in Mariupol. Simultaneously, foreign soldiers who went to fight for Ukraine from European countries, including the US and the UK, are also said to be involved.

The President of Ukraine responded that releasing prisoners of war was a victory for the country. On the contrary, Turkey has said that this process can be crucial to ending the war.
