Biden gives a free hand to Confucius Institute which allegedly conducts CCP propaganda

Washington/Beijing: – The Biden administration has given a free hand to the Confucius Institutes that campaigns for the Chinese communist regime, in the US educational institutes. Last year, the Trump administration had forced the Confucius Institutes to register as ‘Foreign Mission’ and ordered the US educational institutes to reveal the agreements signed with Confucius Institutes. The US media exposed that new US President, Joe Biden has silently withdrawn these orders. Therefore, the Biden administration, who claimed that China is the biggest adversary of the United States, in reality, seems to have surrendered to China.

The leading news website in the United States, ‘Daily Caller’, reported the decision taken by the Biden administration. The administration of former US President Donald Trump, had ordered the US educational institutes to reveal the Confucius Institutes’ agreements. Accordingly, in December 2020, Homeland Security had been ordered to implement the order. A website linked to the US administration posted that this decision was withdrawn on 26th January. The reason behind the withdrawal was not mentioned.

Before becoming the President and even later, Biden had claimed that certain policies of the previous administration regarding China, will remain in force. Last week, while presenting the foreign policy outline, he had claimed that China is the biggest adversary of the United States. The US State Secretary also indicated an aggressive stand on Hongkong, Taiwan and other issues. But the decision regarding the Confucius Institutes indicates that the Biden administration acts oppositely when it comes to making decisions.

While announcing the outline of the foreign policy, President Biden had accused that the Trump administration had surrendered to Russia by adopting an unequivocal stand. Biden had warned that he would be not following that policy and adopt a strong stand against Russia. It was observed that decisions to that effect were also being taken. But this silent decision seems to indicate that the US administration has joined hands with the Chinese communist government to increase its influence, instead of taking some tough decisions against China.

Three years ago, the US intelligence agency, CIA, submitted a report, which mentioned that China is making efforts to increase its influence in US educational institutes and other undertakings. The report had the mention of Confucius Institutes, operating in more than 100 US universities. The report warned that China is inculcating the Chinese ideologies in the US universities and trying to dominate the educational institutes using the financial might.
