After completion of the Kaladan project between India and Myanmar, the distance between Kolkata and Mizoram will reduce by a thousand kilometres. This project will provide a new gateway to the northeastern states. China is extremely upset as the project is nearing completion. Therefore, China is trying to attack the project with the help of Arakan army. The report makes it clear that substantial evidence is available that China is supplying arms to this terrorist organisation.

In the month of June, Thailand military seized a big haul of Chinese arms. The haul was worth about USD 1 million. The report clarified that this arms haul was for the Arakan Army. A major haul of Chinese weapons also had been seized from the Rakhine province of Myanmar in February. The intelligence officials warned that China has supplied surface to surface missiles to the Arakan Army.

Myanmar, who is strengthening this cooperation with India, has withdrawn from a few of the projects under the ambitious Chinese scheme Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This has increased Chinese concerns. Therefore, China seems to be plotting to rock India by attacking the Kaladan projects through the Arakan Army.
