US issues fresh threat to India over cooperation with Russia

Washington: – The United States has issued a fresh threat to India in suggestive words, ‘Purchasing fuel from Russia is not in Indian interest. India has been made aware of this fact.’ The United States, which threatens India over the fuel purchase from Russia, is purchasing more fuel than before the Ukraine war from Russia. The Russian media have exposed the United States’ dual-faced nature to the world. Russian media informed that the United States purchased 100,000 barrels of fuels per day from Russia only last week.

Over the last few weeks, the United States has been trying to stop India from cooperating with Russia using pressure tactics. Daleep Singh, the Deputy National Security Advisor of the United States, had threatened India in straight words over this issue. Daleep Singh had warned that if India purchases fuel from Russia and the transactions are in INR-Rouble, it will have serious consequences. Daleep Singh had warned that if China declared war against India, Russia, the junior partner of China, would not be of any help to India.

Jane Psaki, the media secretary of the White House, said that Daleep Singh pointed out to India that oil purchase from Russia would not be in Indian interests. While these statements are being published, the US defence headquarter Pentagon has expressed concerns over the Indian purchase of S-400 from Russia. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the United States feels concerned over the India-Russia deal for the S-400 system. Therefore, it is exposed that the United States is dreaming of getting India to change its stand regarding Russia using every possible tactic to pressurise India.

India is purchasing hardly 1% to 2% of the fuel requirement in the country from Russia. European countries are buying fuels from Russia in multiple quantities than from India. The Russian media have pointed out that the United States, advising other countries not to purchase fuel from Russia, increases fuel purchases from Russia. This has exposed the dual policies of the United States and the Biden administration is using this ploy to challenge Indian relations with Russia. President Biden, who has been claiming that democratic India is one of the closest associates of the United States, has consistently adopted policies to target India. Analysts had warned the Indian government regarding this even before Biden took over as the US President.

The Biden administration is convinced that India will not go against Russia under any circumstances. However, the United States is trying to trap India in sanctions using pressure tactics. But the sanctions will likely affect the United States more than India. Some US Senators have pointed this out to the Biden administration. But the Biden administration has adopted the suicidal policy to target its allies rather than adversaries. Threatening a country like India, the Biden administration seems to be forging ahead with its irresponsible policies.
