Washington: US President Joe Biden and his administration feared that Germany, which is facing fuel shortages after the severe winter, would lift restrictions for getting fuel from Russia. Not wanting to take this risk, the Biden administration blew up the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel pipeline and left the German people out to freeze in the cold. In an interview given to the German daily ‘Berliner Zeitung’, Hersh also made some claims regarding the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel pipeline explosion.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hersh published an article on his website last week. The article was titled ‘How America Took Out the Nord Stream Pipeline’. In this, he blasted the US agencies, saying they blew up the ‘Nord Stream Pipeline’ with the help of Norway and other NATO countries. The Biden administration has denied these claims, saying Hersh’s article is a piece of “fiction.”

But Seymour Hersh stands by the allegations in his article, and with the help of the media in other countries, he has started to expose the secret conspiracy of the US. According to Hersh, one of the main reasons for blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline was the US distrust of the German authorities. Therefore, the US journalist claimed that Biden approved the Nord Stream conspiracy regardless of the further consequences for European countries.

In the last week of September 2022, it was revealed that there was a fuel leak due to unknown reasons from the ‘Nord Stream’ fuel pipeline built in Russia and European countries. NATO and the European Union blamed Russia for this leak. Russia accused the US of being behind this. Russia also demanded that if Europe decided to investigate the matter in depth, it should also include the US as a suspect. But NATO and European Union ignored it.

‘Nord Stream 1’ was the main gas pipeline from Russia to Europe. Although the ‘Nord Stream 2’ fuel pipeline was built and ready, the supply was not started due to the refusal of permission by the new German government. In such a situation, the war in Ukraine ignited, and the US pressured other European countries, including Germany, not to buy fuel from Russia.

The European countries who refused it in the beginning, were forced to bow to this pressure of the US for some time. Yet Hersh’s exposé revealed to the world that the US is worried that the German government will buy fuel from Russia due to public pressure in the event of severe winter fuel shortages. It shows that the US is not ready to trust its closest partner.
