Indian Army Chief visits central command against the background of Chinese movements near Lipulekh  

New Delhi: The Indian Army Chief, General Manoj Naravane, has ordered the four corps commander to keep up the high state of alertness. This order by the Army Chief to the four corps commanders, who are responsible for the security at the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, is a subtle warning to China. Moreover, following this visit, the Army Chief visited Central Command in Lucknow. He asserted that the Indian Army is closely monitoring the movements of the Chinese Army at the Nepal border.

The fifth round of discussion between the India-China commander has been futile. Also, Army Chief General Naravane visited the office of four corps in Assam, as the news of another possible discussion between the two officials made rounds. In his two-day visit, the Army Chief reviewed military preparedness of the Army based in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.   

Following this, he also visited the Central Command office in Lucknow. News had surfaced that China had increased its military deployment at the India-Nepal border alongside China near Lipulekh in Uttarakhand. Furthermore, the visit of Amy Chief to the Indian CENTCOM office holds significance, as the central command is responsible for the military security near the Lipulekh border. Besides, the Nepal government has been implementing pro-China policies and thus, Nepal has proclaimed Indian part of Lipulekh and Kalapani. Following this, it has emerged that China has increased its army deployment in this region. Against this background, the visit of Indian Army Chief holds prime significance.
