Washington: 21 people, including 19 students, were killed in a shootout by an 18-year-old psychopath in a school in the US state of Texas. The reason behind the attack could not be ascertained. After that, Ramos, who escaped from the place, rammed his car into the Rob Elementary School compound wall at Ulvade and started indiscriminate firing. He entered one of the classrooms and shot down 19 students along with the teacher. On receiving the information, Texas police rounded up the school. Ramos tried to escape from the school but was killed in police firing. As per the information shared by the Texas agencies, Ramos had a rifle and a bulletproof jacket.

The demand for a ban on gun sales is gaining momentum in the United States following this horrible massacre. US President expressed intense grief over the massacre and said that there is a necessity to ban buying and selling of guns. President Biden criticised that the Gun Lobby creates obstacles to imposing this ban.

Former US President Barack Obama and Hollywood stars condemned the Texas massacre and demanded a ban on guns. Ten days ago, 13 people were killed in another psychopath shooting incident in a supermarket in the Buffalo region in the United States. But the attack on the Texas school is considered the most horrendous attack in the last ten years. In 2012, 26 people, including 20 students, were killed in a school in Connecticut in an incident of a psychopath shooting.
