US Space Force chief confirms working on Directed Energy Weapons

Washington – The interests of the United States and allies are no longer safe in space. Moreover, a few weeks ago, the US intelligence agency CIA had warned that China is militarizing space and trying to usurp the United States. As a result, the United States has also taken steps to counter China’s military challenges. Thus, the US Space Force is working on the Direct Energy System to secure its interests and retain its dominion in space, informed the US Space Force Chief Jay Raymond.

A few days ago, news had surfaced that China has formed goals and objectives to establish and set its dominion in space by 2045. China has deployed astronauts at its independent Tianhe Space Station and has initiated steps for this purpose. As per the warnings, these Chinese ambitions pose a threat to the interests of the United States in space. The US Space agency NASA expressed concerns about this to the US parliament. Besides, NASA also demanded capital funding, essential to retain the significance of the United States in space.

While speaking before the US Senate Armed Services Committee, US Space Force Chief Jay Raymond informed about the consistent efforts of the United States to retain its dominion in space. Raymond also emphasized that the Direct Energy System would be used for defence. The Space Force Chief expressed faith that the United States is mainly dependent on information satellites, so protecting them is a significant responsibility. It is claimed that General Raymond imparted some critical information about the Direct Energy System to the US Senate Armed Services Committee.

However, the Space Force representative denied revealing any more details about it. China and Russia have a Direct Energy System, which can damage or destroy the US Space Satellite. Thus, the United States is preparing against this threat; the Space Force representative told the press. Earlier, the US Missile Defence Agency had declared about initiating research about using the laser to counter the intercontinental ballistic missile.

Nearly two months ago, the US intelligence department, CIA, has published warnings about the Direct Energy System of China. China had tested these satellite destroyers and lasers; this was brought to light by CIA Chief William Burns. China can disable the optical sensors of the US satellites or even destroy them with the help of lasers, claimed Burns. He had also warned that China is making efforts to demolish the United States’ influence in space; hence, the United States must take proper steps to counter this threat.

Furthermore, US President Joe Biden also stressed that the Space Force policy by former US President Donald Trump would remain unchanged.
