Beijing: Given the visit of US President Joe Biden to Saudi Arabia, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has lashed out at the US and said that the United States and the other western countries should give up their longstanding conduct of interfering in internal matters of the Middle East countries to suit their agenda.
Last week, the US President visited Saudi Arabia, and he also met the leaders of other Arab countries. Current threats faced by the countries were discussed in these meetings. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticised and targeted the US President’s visit, especially after holding virtual discussions with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
Furthermore, President Biden said the United States would not back out from the Middle East to allow Russia and Iran to gain control. The Chinese Foreign Minister criticised this policy of the United States. China has always had the ambition to increase its influence in the fuel-rich Middle East region, for which they have pursued efforts for the last few decades. Some analysts in the United States have claimed that China has been presented with an excellent opportunity to fulfil its ambition, given the weak policies of the Biden administration.
