New Delhi (PTI) : India has invited “Tesla Motors”, a prominent American company in the field of manufacturing electric car, to establish its production unit. It is also articulated that the company may consider India as its main center for Asian continent.
While on his United States visit, Central Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari visited Tesla Company’s San Francisco production unit. Mr Gadkari, requested Tesla officials to start their production unit in India. He also promised the officials to provide convenient area near main ports of the country. He also stated that it would be advantageous for the company to export in Asian continent.
It is believed that if Tesla decides to set-up manufacturing unit in India, it would not only be beneficial for the country but also encourage pollution-free traffic. Mr Gadkari has also stated that Indian Government is enhancing efforts to use bio-fuels, CNG, Ethanol and electrical powered vehicles. Meanwhile, the senior officials at Tesla have agreed that to increase their sale outside the United States, it has become imperative to start production in other countries.
