Pakistan, Taliban, Tehrik-e-Taliban,A few days ago, Pakistan instructed the Afghan Taliban to take action against the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). A Pakistani official said he had warned the Taliban along with the proposal. The concerned official said that Pakistan warned the Taliban that if the Taliban do not comply with Pakistan’s demands and take action against the Tehrik, the Taliban will suffer. ‘If the Taliban does not accept Pakistan’s demands, the international community will feel that the Taliban will not listen to them. The Taliban will not be recognized if that happens,’ Pakistan argued.

The Pakistani official accused that the Taliban protected all the TTP leaders in Afghanistan. Pakistan demands that the Taliban should hand over the TTP leaders to Pakistan. But the Taliban did not accede to Pakistan’s demands; the Pakistani official told a Pakistani newspaper. On the contrary, while talking to the newspaper, the Pakistani official criticized the Taliban for indicating that they were not dependent on Pakistan.

Pakistan’s National Security Advisor, Moeed Yusuf, will visit Afghanistan and hold talks with Taliban leaders in such a scenario. Moeed Yusuf is expected to discuss the Taliban’s threats to the Pakistani military on the Durand Line over the past few weeks and TTP’s ongoing operations in Pakistan.

Pakistan had assumed that after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, it would come under its control. This was why Pakistan celebrated after the Taliban’s victory. But the celebration will be short-lived, said David Petraeus, a former U.S. military official. Pakistan is experiencing that now. Taliban has maintained its relations with the TTP to maintain pressure on Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistani journalists claimed that TTP is an insurance policy for the Taliban against Pakistan. As a result, there has been talk in Pakistan that despite all the assistance provided to the Taliban and after paying a heavy price of facing disgrace on the international level, Pakistan has not achieved anything other than disappointment and serious danger.
