Islamabad: Taliban has increased military deployment on the Durand Line, dividing Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Taliban has deployed a battalion of suicide attackers in the Waziristan belt as per received information. Pakistani media are expressing a grave concern that there is a possibility of a fierce conflict flaring up between the Taliban and the Pakistan military on the Durand Line. Western analysts are also warning that there is a possibility of a conflict between the Taliban and Pakistan, who were once close associates.

Taliban already threatened a few days ago that there would be dire consequences if Pakistan once again attempted intrusion into Afghanistan or launched airstrikes. Taliban commanders also threatened to take the Afghan border to the Atak city in Pakistan. Against this background, the Pakistani journalists express concerns over the new Taliban activities on the Durand Line.
