Stern warning for China in the QUAD meeting held in Tokyo

Tokyo: China has been given a stern warning at the QUAD meeting of India, the United States, Japan and Australia in Tokyo. Efforts to escalate tensions in the Indo-Pacific region by changing the status quo through aggressive, provocative or unilateral actions will not be tolerated. These include the militarization of the disputed area and the dangerous use of the Coast Guard and the attack squadrons. A joint statement issued by the QUAD said that the QUAD would also strongly oppose any movement that could disrupt the coastal areas of other countries by carrying out explorations.

The meeting attracted the attention of the whole world. When China’s actions, especially in the Indo-Pacific region, have reached alarming levels, the QUAD has sent a message to China in a stern language through the joint statement. QUAD seems to have warned China that its efforts to challenge stability, peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region will no longer be tolerated.

Each country must comply with international maritime rules. The QUAD statement has noted that freedom of maritime and air traffic in the entire Indo-Pacific region, including the East and South China Seas, should be unhindered. At the same time, the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai and the terrorist attacks at Pathankot have been strongly condemned in the QUAD statement. The statement emphasized that the QUAD strongly protests against terrorism of every kind and violent extremism.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed satisfaction over the QUAD meeting, saying that the QUAD has achieved great success in the short run. QUAD is also pursuing a constructive policy in the Indo-Pacific region, which has created the image of QUAD as a constructive organization. As a result, the scope is increasing for QUAD. Prime Minister Modi claimed that due to the mutual trust and determination of the QUAD countries, the democratic forces are getting new energy and enthusiasm.

Prime Minister Modi added, ‘Even after the Corona crisis, the QUAD countries have stepped up their coordination on measures against global climate change, strengthening the supply chain and disaster response systems, as well as economic cooperation.’

On the sidelines of the QUAD meeting in Japan, Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks with the Prime Ministers of Japan and Australia and the President of the United States. In his bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi, President Biden said he was committed to developing a partnership between the two countries. He noted that the partnership between India and the United States was based on trust. In addition to his bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Modi also met former Japanese Prime Ministers Shinzo Abe, Yoshihide Suga and Yoshiro Mori.

Prime Minister Modi announced that he had fruitful discussions with the new Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese.
