British PM needs to be highly vigilant while dealing with China, urges Conservative Party

London: – The British ruling party has appealed that the United Kingdom needs to keep its eyes open while dealing with China, who is blatantly trampling human rights of its population. The human rights commission of the British ruling party presented an aggressive resolution showering criticism on China. This proposal advises British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to reconsider the relations with China. A few days ago, it was revealed that China had threatened the United Kingdom over its stand on the South China Sea.

Moves had started in 2010 to strengthen the relations between the United Kingdom and China. Hence, huge trade and investment agreements were signed between the two countries. Political leaders, as well as analysts, had claimed that the golden era had started between the two countries. But the relations have been changing since the last one year, and the United Kingdom has adopted a more aggressive stand against China. The United Kingdom has openly opposed China on the Coronavirus pandemic issues, activities in the South China Sea, the Hong Kong law, Uyghur people and 5G technology, and has taken some crucial decisions.

The report prepared by the committee formed by the ruling Conservative Party, in the United Kingdom, also is believed to be a part of the same initiative. The report enlists the cruel and inhuman actions of the ruling Chinese communist party. The report points to the issues of torture of the population, use of workers as slaves, the oppression of the Uyghur minority and incidents of abduction and surveillance of its people.

Former British Foreign Minister William Hague said, referring to the report, ‘There is human rights violation in many countries of the world, and the United Kingdom must raise a voice against it. China cannot be an exception. But we cannot stop at just raising a voice against it, and subsequently, the United Kingdom needs to keep its eyes open while dealing with China.’ Tom Tugendhat, the Chief of the British Foreign Affairs Committee, said that the crimes of the Chinese communist rule are more horrific than the ones committed during the tenure of Russian dictator Stalin. At the same time, he also criticised that the rulers, with whom the United Kingdom developed a closeness with, were different from China’s current rulers. Tugendhat said that therefore, the United Kingdom would have to reconsider China’s relations in the future.
