Ukraine’s counteroffensive kills over 26 thousand Ukrainian soldiers – Russian Defence Minister

Moscow/Kyiv: The counteroffensive launched by Ukraine against Russia in June has been a complete failure and killed more than 26,000 Ukrainian soldiers, informed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The Russian Defense Minister slammed Ukraine, saying it exaggerated the information and created unnecessary expectations about its ‘counteroffensive’. Defense Minister Shoigu criticised Ukraine’s ‘counteroffensive’ when the news about suicide drone attacks on the capital Kyiv by Russia came to the fore for the second consecutive day.

Last month, Ukraine launched a ‘counteroffensive’ against Russia. Even though more than a month has passed, the Ukrainian army has achieved nothing spectacular. Ukraine has not been able to advance beyond a few villages on the Donetsk-Zhaporizhzhia border. The West has initiated criticism that Ukraine’s retaliatory strikes have failed. Even after a few weeks of Ukraine’s campaign, Russia’s advance is intact. Ukraine is yet to see much success,’ warned NATO’s top official, General Christopher Cavoli.

Moreover, the Defense Minister of Russia made a statement on the complete failure of Ukraine in the dialogue council held on Wednesday. Ukraine has lost more than 26,000 soldiers and nearly 3,000 heavy weapons and defence equipment in the anti-Russian counteroffensive, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

Russian security forces destroyed over 1,200 Ukrainian tanks, artillery and armoured vehicles and targeted about 21 aircraft, five helicopters and 483 drones in Ukraine. The Defense Minister shared information about the ‘Storm Shadow’ missile and 176 HIMARS rockets provided by the UK. Shoigu drew attention to the complete failure of Ukraine’s ‘counteroffensive’ to meet its objectives.

Furthermore, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu highlighted Ukraine’s ‘counteroffensive’ failure. At the same time, information has emerged that Russia has carried out drone attacks on the capital Kyiv for the second consecutive day. On Tuesday, Russia is said to have attacked Kyiv with 15 suicide drones. On Monday, Russia dispatched more than ten drones to carry out the attack. Meanwhile, it is said that Russia has carried out these attacks against the background of the NATO meeting.
