United Nations estimates over a hundred thousand refugees may migrate to Europe given the Russia-Ukraine conflict 

Kyiv/ Brussels: Millions of Ukrainian citizens are prepared to flee their nation amid Russian invasion in Ukraine. Over a hundred thousand citizens may arrive in Europe in the next few days, claimed the United Nations. Besides, reports have surfaced that Romania, Hungary and Poland have started setting up special camps for these Ukranian refugees. US envoy to the UN, Linda Thomas Greenfield has speculated a possibility of five million Ukrainian citizens fleeing to other nations.

The Ukrainian civilians rushed and started fleeing to other nations after Russia attacked Ukraine on early Thursday morning. Civilians from capital city Kyiv alongside East Ukraine and Kharkiv began fleeing the country via cars and railway transport. Moreover, local sources have informed that since Thursday, the Ukrainian citizens have started queuing at the borders of Poland, Hungary, Romania.

Furthermore, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky had appealed to Ukrainian citizens to be prepared to fight against Russia. However, Ukrainian citizens are fleeing the country at large due to Russia’s comprehensive and decisive attacks. The United Nations has reported that nearly a hundred thousand Ukrainian citizens may arrive in Europe in the next few days.

The US ambassador to the UN has claimed that the number of Ukrainian refugees arriving in neighbouring European countries was huge. If Russia continues to attack, the refugee crisis coming out of Ukraine could become serious. The international community will face the world’s largest refugee problem. The war imposed by Russia will force as many as five million civilians in Ukraine to be displaced. Ukraine’s neighboring countries can be under tremendous pressure, warned U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Russia has launched a massive cyberattack on Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has appealed to country’s hacker-community in the country to respond and said that they should unite for a campaign against Russia. There have also been reports that a group of hackers named ‘Anonymous’ has launched a cyber-attack on Russia in response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
