Indian PM Narendra Modi delivers the message of 'One World'The combined GDP of the G-20 member countries is 85 per cent of the global GDP. G-20 countries account for 75 per cent of global trade. The population of G-20 countries is two-thirds of the world’s population. Prime Minister Modi highlighted this importance by saying that the presidency of such an important organisation is coming to India. The conference, which will be held in India next year, will involve around 200 meetings covering 32 sectors in various parts of the country. The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that hosting the G20 will be the most important among the grand international conferences organised by India.

While unveiling the emblem of G-20, the Prime Minister explained that it expresses India’s sentiments and resolve. India, the mother of democracy, looks at the world as a family. Thus, India implemented the concepts of ‘One Sun, One World, One Grid’ and ‘One Earth, One Health’. Prime Minister Modi informed that India had presented the concept of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ for the G-20.

Also, the Prime Minister made it clear that the world is looking at the G-7, G-20 and the UN Security Council with expectations of leadership. Though India is a member of G-20, India has not yet become a member of G-7 and the UN Security Council. The Prime Minister indirectly pointed out that without India’s participation, the Security Council and G-7-like organisations would be ineffective.

The Ministry of External Affairs has claimed that issues of international importance will be raised at the G-20 conference in India. At the same time, discussions have also stated that India’s influence at the global level will increase after organising this conference. On this occasion, it is believed that this will have far-reaching consequences and India will come before the world as a more influential nation. In the wake of the Corona pandemic and subsequent economic crisis, the strong performance of the Indian economy has been impressive. Also, the shortage of fuel and other essentials that arose after the war in Ukraine did not particularly affect India.

On the contrary, it was revealed that India was progressing at a better rate of development than other countries during this period. Due to the policies adopted by the US Federal Reserve, the dollar’s value increased and the currencies of other major countries fell in comparison. Although the Indian rupee has also fallen due to this, the performance of the Indian rupee compared to other major countries is seen to be very good. All these things can impact the G-20 conference to be held in India.
