Jerusalem: ‘Our policy vis-a-vis Ukraine will not change — we will continue to support and stand with the West, we will not provide weapon systems,’ declared Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz. Russia warned two days ago that if Israel supplies weapons to Ukraine, the relations with Russia will end.
Israel had clarified that their country was ready to provide necessary medical and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, which has been struggling for almost seven months. Moreover, Israel had also appealed that Ukraine should inform its demands. Accordingly, Ukrainian President Zelensky has sent a letter of appeal to Israel. Therein, the President of Ukraine demanded that Israel provide military assistance and the air defence system of the ‘Iron Dome’.
However, Israel’s Defense Minister Gantz rebuked that Israel would not provide military assistance to Ukraine in this conflict. Also, even hereafter, Israel will continue to assist Ukraine. But Gantz said that care would be taken that Ukraine would not receive military assistance in any way. Russia had previously appealed to Ukraine not to provide military aid to Ukraine, which supported Hitler, who was responsible for the massacre of Jews in World War II.
