Since then, the Taliban have taken over security in Kabul and set up security checkpoints at various locations. Taliban militants are also patrolling outside the airport in Kabul, trying to stop people from leaving Afghanistan. Against this backdrop, US and British agencies on Wednesday warned of a possible terrorist attack on Kabul airport.

IS militants blew themselves up near the Abbey Gate and Baron Hotel outside the airport on Thursday. The Taliban claimed that its members were also killed in the blast. At the same time, the Taliban has clarified that there is no connection between IS-K in Afghanistan and the Taliban. But Amrullah Saleh attacked the news in sharp words.

IS-K groups active in Kabul have links to the Taliban. Despite this, the Taliban denies any links to IS. Earlier, Pakistan had said it had no ties with the Shura Council in Quetta. The Taliban’s statement is a repeat of that. The Taliban seem to have learned to lie smartly, from their bosses.’ said Saleh.

The success of the Taliban in Afghanistan is clearly due to Pakistan. Taliban spokesmen have also referred to Pakistan as their second home, pointing to the closeness between the two. On the other hand, Pakistan’s leadership is also striving to get other countries to recognize the Taliban. Against this backdrop, the attack on Kabul airport becomes a notable event, adding to the anarchical situation in Afghanistan. Stating that the Taliban was behind the bombing at Kabul airport, Saleh advised the United States and the international community not to believe the Taliban’s words.
