India's global influence is independent of the United States – Chinese govt mouthpiece claims

Beijing – India has started purchasing large quantities of fuel and weapons from Russia. According to the claim made by the United States, human rights are being crushed in India. Yet, ignoring this claim, the United States is developing strategic cooperation with India. Besides, vigorous preparations have been initiated for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United States. The Chinese official mouthpiece’ Global Times’ has made these statements. However, India’s development and impact on the world depends on India’s policy; it has nothing to do with the United States, claimed China’s ‘Global Times’.

The United States is developing great cooperation with India, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN member countries. It is part of the US’ initial efforts to stop the rise of China. India and other countries are exploiting the conflict between the United States and China to their benefit. For some time, these countries will certainly benefit from it. However, it will only harm these countries in the long run, warned the ‘Global Times’ in its article. It is because the United States will achieve remote control of these countries, alleged the Chinese mouthpiece.

Furthermore, this country has established its dominance globally due to India’s economic influence, confessed the Global Times. However, this newspaper has drawn attention to the issue of India’s per capita income still being very low. It has tried to make India realise it is still economically behind. The Global Times also said India’s progress was due to economic reforms and cannot be determined by the United States. Therefore, the Global Times has also claimed that India will not progress much because of the United States, the Global Times claimed.

The United States is giving special importance to Prime Minister Modi’s visit because it wants to use India against China; more emphasis has been given to this point in this article by the Global Times. What is noteworthy is that the Global Times had urged India not to fall prey to the US conspiracy against China conspiracy of the United States in the past as well. Due to this, India will suffer more losses, warned the official mouthpiece. The daily also hinted that India would lose its foreign policy balance and sovereignty by cooperating with the United States. Hence, China seems increasingly restless with the developing strategic partnership between India and the US.

Due to the aggressive role adopted by India after the Galwan conflict, China has also realised that it will no longer be able to add military pressure on India. Besides this, India has given a big blow to China by banning Chinese companies and apps. India is currently making significant imports from China. However, given the feeling of anger against this country among the Indian citizens, these imports are claimed to reduce in the coming days definitely. Due to this, China is worried and trying to improve its relations with India. Even so, China is not ready to withdraw its entire army from the LAC in Ladakh as per India’s demand. China is troubled by the fear of this decision affecting its international image. Nevertheless, India is making China realise that bilateral cooperation can only be established if China withdraws its army from the LAC in Ladakh.

Meanwhile, India has turned down the offer made by the US to join NATO Plus, despite high tensions with China. Moreover, “India has the courage to face threats from China. For this, we do not need the cooperation of other countries,” External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently declared. Thus, the message that India’s foreign policy is completely independent has reached across the globe.
