India’s strength is the balancing force of the world – Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Kargil: Prime Minister, said India traditionally believes war is a last resort. Be it Lanka or Kurukshetra; all efforts were made to avoid war till the end. That is why we are all advocates of world peace and anti-war. But peace is impossible without strength. Indian defence forces have strength and strategy as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the capabilities of the defence forces by saying, ‘Our armed forces have the strategies as well as the strength. If anyone dares cast an evil eye on us, our three armed forces know very well how to give a befitting reply to the enemy in its own language.’ Addressing soldiers in Kargil, the PM expressed this belief. Stating that India is the world’s balancing power, the PM further said that once India’s strength increases, the chances of establishing peace also increase accordingly.

balancingFor the past seven years, the PM has celebrated Diwali with soldiers stationed at the border. This year, he celebrated Diwali with soldiers stationed in Kargil. He said the Diwali the soldiers and the ordinary citizens celebrate is very different. It is because the fireworks and explosions of soldiers are very much different. Stating that Diwali is celebrating the end of terror, the PM reminded that Indian soldiers beat back Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war. The Prime Minister said that the Kargil war victory was celebrated in the country on Diwali in such a way that it is remembered even today.

PM Modi said that the nation we adore, India, is not just a piece of land but a vibrant living entity with eternal consciousness and immortal existence. The PM described the glory of India in the words that India is a perpetual culture, a legacy of prowess, a tall towering current that originates from the Himalayas and flows into the Indian Ocean. Defence forces today have indigenously made weapons to protect such a country. The country has become self-reliant in the defence sector. Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction by pointing out that more than 400 weapons are now being manufactured in the country. The Prime Minister proudly mentioned the BrahMos supersonic missile, Prachanda Light Combat Helicopter, Tejas fighter jet, aircraft carrier (INS) Vikrant, Arihant(-class) submarine, Prithvi and Akash missiles, Pinaka (multi-barrel) rocket launcher, and Arjuna tanks are all being manufactured in the country.

The Prime Minister also clarified that India has been strengthening its anti-missile system today. He also made aware that India has rapidly worked on modern and effective technologies like drones. However, the PM also directly articulated that India’s strength is not for war but as a last resort. He also explained the country’s policy in the words that the growing power of India is a balancing force in the world, and this increases the chances of establishing peace. At the same time, the country has been facing internal challenges along with external enemies. The Prime Minister said that the successful struggle of the country against terrorism, Naxalism and corruption has been going on.
