Adam Schiff, the President of the US Congress Committee, claimed that it is essential to include India and Japan in the Five Eyes group. Schiff forwarded his demand claiming that the cooperation of these democratic countries will be valuable for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Taking serious cognisance of the Chinese activities for global domination in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand had formed the Five Eyes group. The Five Eyes cooperation is being developed to counter the Chinese activities to increase its influence and domination in various countries and to get information regarding Chinese activities. China has made remarkable progress using its technology and military might, in the last few months and it has been revealed that China has succeeded in building pressure groups even in Canada and Australia.

Australia has initiated action against this. Even Canada has taken some aggressive decisions against China, with cooperation from the United States. Against this background, the Five Eyes cooperation becomes essential, and its political and military importance increases tremendously. This is the reason that the demand to include India, Japan and South Korea in the Five Eyes, made by Adam Schiff, attracted the attention of the analysts around the world.

Meanwhile, the Two Plus Two talks between India and the United States will start in a week. Before this, negotiations between Indian Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh and US Secretary for Defence Mark Esper will be held at the US defence headquarters, the Pentagon. The US Secretary of Defence claimed that the United States has big expectations from these talks with India. Secretary of Defence Esper made this claim during his speech at the renowned US study group, ‘Council on Foreign Relations’ (CFR). The US Secretary of Defence said it is a resolve of the United States and India that the Indo-Pacific sector should be free and open and indicated that these talks would be valuable to decide the course of action.

In other words, the United States is garnering support from other countries, including India, for its actions against China. The United States is delivering the message, in all the possible ways that the Chinese activities in the Indo-Pacific region are a challenge to the stability and peace in the region and all the countries need to stand united against these Chinese activities. As of now, the efforts of the United States are yielding positive results and this adds to the Chinese woes. But China seems to be taking an aggressive stance to counter this, instead of changing its policies.
