In 2017, Macron formed a new party with the Right Centre ideology and secured an unexpected victory in the Presidential elections. It is said that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the European Union played a significant role in Macron’s victory. Macron succeeded in getting a majority for his new party in the parliamentary elections after becoming the President. Thereafter, in the initial phases, Macron failed to create his influence.

But Macron adopted an aggressive stand on the terror attacks and hypocritical leftist Ideology in France. At the same time, Macron succeeded in steering France through the Coronavirus crisis and economic slowdown without many setbacks, much better than the other countries. Macron succeeded in sending signals that France could lead Europe while implementing firm policies regarding the United States and Russia. French analysts claim that he benefitted from all this in the Presidential elections.

At the same time, analysts are pointing to the votes secured by Marine Le Pen. She has secured more votes than any other rightist leader in France. Some analysts have expressed that this increase in vote per cent and polarisation of the French electorate was also a victory of sorts for Marine Le Pen. The parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in June. Experts have predicted that the results of these elections will truly decide the future of France and the second term of Macron as the President.
