New Delhi: Union Minister for MSME, Nitin Gadkari said ‘Evolution of Coronavirus is not natural and this virus has been developed in a laboratory. It is because of this that all the unexpected events are happening. Scientists from the entire world are searching for a vaccine for the virus. Everything will be fine once the vaccine is developed. Ours is an emerging country and cannot afford a prolonged lockdown. It is important to fight the Coronavirus, but at the same time, we are also fighting a war on the economic front.’

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the economic package for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, on Wednesday. Gadkari mentioned that the Coronavirus was developed in a laboratory, while speaking about the package announced, to the media channels.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphatically said that the economy could not be ignored while fighting the war against Coronavirus. There is no alternative to providing a stimulus to the national economy, taking all the possible precautions. Because no one can say with conviction when the Coronavirus pandemic will end. Coronavirus is not a natural virus and it has been developed in a laboratory. Saying that therefore, nothing can be said about the virus, he justified the decision to relax the lockdown in phases.

The Indian media have highlighted the statement made by Gadkari, regarding Coronavirus. Countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia are emphasising that the Coronavirus was developed in the Wuhan laboratory. The United States accused that it was because of the Chinese irresponsibility that the pandemic was caused and has initiated the formation of a political front, against China, for demanding an astronomical compensation from China. India had, so far, refrained from levelling allegations against China. Therefore, the statement made by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that the virus is manmade and is developed in a laboratory is enough to increase pressure on China.

China is trying to increase pressure on India with attempted intrusions at the border and assisting Pakistan. At the same time, China is upset that the foreign companies preparing to exit from China are keen on investing in India. In this scenario, China is making efforts to pressurise India in every possible way. In these times, India has supported the claims made by the western countries, regarding Coronavirus. The statement made by Gadkari indicates that the consequences will be harsh for China.
