Maharashtra records 27 Coronavirus deaths in 24 hours  

Mumbai: Number of Coronavirus deaths in Maharashtra has reached 369 with an addition of 27 deaths on Monday. On the same day, 522 new cases were reported from Maharashtra, taking the total number of cases in the state to 8,590. Mumbai alone has reported 15 deaths as also 315 new cases.

‘Spread of Coronavirus is on the rise in Maharashtra, and measures are being taken on a war footing to contain the pandemic. As per the instructions of the central government, 176,000 isolation beds were readied. The hospitals are divided into three classes, and 32,861 beds are available for the critical patients in Class One hospitals. Also, 3,000 ventilators are available in the state’, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed.   

Concerns regarding the pandemic continue to grow due to the continually increasing numbers of cases and deaths in the state. Mumbai and Pune particularly are witnessing a rising number of infections. On Monday, the state saw 27 deaths and 522 new cases. In Mumbai, the number of Coronavirus deaths has reached 219 while infections have climbed to 5,589. On the other hand, Pune reported 1,193 cases so far, with 86 fatalities. Likewise, the state government has informed that currently, 145,000 people are under quarantine as also 1,272 patients have been cured.
