Chinese army, India, Arunachal Pradesh, MissingA youth named Miran Taron went missing from the upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on the 18th of January. As per the information given by Johny Yeing, a friend of Miran, to the local agencies, the Chinese army had abducted Miran. Yeing said this abduction was carried out near the Tsang Po River, flowing from Tibet into India. This river is known as the Siang river in Arunachal Pradesh and the Brahmaputra in the country. The Indian army had launched a search operation for Miran. The Chinese army also was asked about Miran.

Reports of Miran being abducted by the Chinese army were published in Indian media. The Chinese foreign ministry had denied having any information regarding the missing youth. The Chinese foreign ministry took this opportunity to reiterate its claim on Arunachal Pradesh. But India did not pay any attention to the claim. Therefore, the Chinese attempt to rake up a controversy failed. At the same time, as the Indian army handled the matter with patience and the Chinese attempted to create trouble for India raising a dispute over the issue also failed. Now the Chinese army has said that they have found Miran. Therefore, it is evident that China is trying to use pressure tactics against India. China is vying to create a sensation in India. But the Indian government and military handled the issue patiently, being aware of the Chinese plot.

In 2020, the Chinese army had abducted five youths from the Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. They were released in a week. This only shows that China has been attempting to increase pressure on India with such inciting activities. The border between the two countries has not been clearly defined. Taking advantage of this fact, the Chinese army keeps making intrusion attempts on the Line of Actual Control from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. India had given China a proposal to mark the border to avoid such incidents. But China is not willing to consider the proposal.
