China objects to India-US joint war exercises in areas near LAC

Beijing: Indian and the US Armies have been conducting military exercises near the Chinese border, which has upset China. In contrast, China reminded India of the 1993 and 1996 border agreements. The spokesperson of the Chinese defence ministry said that according to this agreement, interference of a third country in the border dispute between India and China could not be tolerated. It is significant that China, which has been continuously violating the border agreement with India, has to present these agreements as proof at this time.

China objects to India-US joint war exercises in areas near LACMoreover, Tan Kefei, the spokesperson of China’s defence ministry, objected to the military exercise between India and the United States. On August 8th, a joint war exercise called Vajraprahar was held in Himachal Pradesh between the Indian and US armies. Also, between October 14th and 31st, a grand war exercise between Indian and the US Army will be held at Avail in Uttarakhand. Stating that this is a serious matter, Kefei said that this military exercise violates the border agreements made by India with China. As such, third-country interference in border issues cannot be tolerated, Kefei added.

Moreover, Kefei expressed hope that India will strictly follow the border agreement signed between the two countries in the future. He has also warned that otherwise, consequences are possible. But India is currently not in a mood to heed Chinese warnings. India had demanded that China withdraw its troops deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh to reduce tension on the Ladakh LAC. China is not ready to accept this demand. This Chinese adamance has not allowed the tension to be reduced on the LAC. At the same time, China is violating the agreements made with India without respecting them. The Indian Foreign Minister was made aware that this is the root cause of the border dispute between the two countries.

In such a situation, India has delivered another blow to China by organizing military exercises with the United States. The skill of the Indian Army in remote and hilly warfare is non-debatable. That is why countries worldwide are eager to take advantage of this experience of the Indian Army to conduct joint war exercises. It is said that the United States, a superpower, is no exception. In such a situation, the military exercises of India and the US Army in the area near its border are becoming extremely disturbing for China. However, the scope of military exercises is increasing in both countries and China will have to prepare for such India-US military exercises in the future as well.

Earlier, China had completely ignored the objections raised by India from time to time on Chinese cooperation with Pakistan. There were reports of Chinese military deployment in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. China, which has repeatedly posed challenges to Indian security, now seems to be reminding India of border cooperation agreements.
