Chinese media has threatened Japan, South Korea, and other small neighbouring countries that the US cannot save them from China. Withdrawal from Afghanistan and failure to stop Russia in Ukraine are examples that China is propagating to warn its neighbours that cooperation with the US can have serious consequences.
