US Biden administration had proposed to give 20% of Ukraine's land to Russia – Swiss-German media allegeThe Russia-Ukraine conflict has been a year in the making and there are no signs of abating. But it is often said from Russia that Russia proposed a peace treaty to Ukraine in the early days after the conflict started. A few months later, the media reported that the United States and some European countries were also putting pressure on Ukraine for peace as they were tired of the conflict. US diplomat and former national security adviser Henry Kissinger also advised that Ukraine should prepare to leave the territory. But Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected all the proposals in this regard.

In this background, the news published in this regard by the Swiss Daily is sensational. According to NNZ, CIA chief William Burns visited Russia’s capital, Moscow and Ukraine, in January. During the visit, Burns proposed that Russia end the conflict by taking 20% of Ukraine’s territory. The same proposal was presented to Ukraine. But both countries are said to have rejected the proposal. Burns’ proposal is said to have included an area in Ukraine known as ‘Donbas’.

Furthermore, Russia has declared the four provinces of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia as part of the Russian Federation. Of these, Luhansk province is completely under the control of Russia, while Ukraine has regained parts of the other three provinces. But Russia’s attacks on this area are continuing and it is coming out that Russia has achieved good success in the last few days. Russian President Putin and other leading leaders have also made it clear that Russia will not stop unless the objectives of the military campaign are met.
