अफगाणिस्तानने पाकिस्तानला संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघात खेचलेOn the 16th of April, the Pakistan air force launched aggressive airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Khost provinces. The Pakistan military claimed that it targeted terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban hiding in the Afghan border regions. Taliban accused that 47 innocent Afghan citizens were killed in the Pakistani attacks. A senior Taliban leader warned that such Pakistani attacks in Afghanistan would not be tolerated. Taliban also warned Pakistan to be prepared for serious consequences.

Within a few hours of this, Afghanistan dragged Pakistan to the United Nations. Naseer Ahmed Faiq, Charge De Affairs of Afghanistan in the United Nations, appointed during the tenure of President Ashraf Ghani, complained to Pakistan with the US Security Council. अफगाणिस्तानने पाकिस्तानला संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघात खेचलेFaiq accused ‘The attacks launched by Pakistan violate international regulations and human rights laws. This is trampling of the laws of the United Nations and the Security Council.’

The Afghan diplomat demanded, ‘The Pakistan military has been carrying out attacks in the Afghan territory for last ten years. Pakistan is also building barbed-wire fences and military posts in this region. Pakistan launched attacks a few days ago. Besides, the killing of Afghans in the attack is a serious matter. The Pakistani attacks are denounceable and should be stopped immediately.’ Earlier Afghanistan had lodged complaints against Pakistan, even in February 2019 and July 2020. But this time, various groups in Afghanistan seem to have united against Pakistan.

अफगाणिस्तानने पाकिस्तानला संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघात खेचलेThe Taliban factions Taliban, Haqqani Network and Tehreek-e-Taliban have come together against Pakistan. All these groups have supported the complaint lodged by Naseer Ahmed Faiq against Pakistan in the UN Security Council. All these groups unanimously announced that dividing the Pashtun population is not acceptable because the British drew up the Durand Line a hundred years ago. This will undoubtedly add to the worries of Pakistan.

Till date, Pakistan was keeping Afghanistan unstable using certain groups. At the same time, certain groups in Afghanistan had gone entirely against Pakistan. But with all these groups coming together over the Durand Line issue, the Pakistani tactics could backfire on the country. The tension is reigning on the Durand Line point to the same thing.
